Tamika’s Story

Futures Alpharetta   -

A year before I came to Futures Church, I lost my mom to cancer. I was mourning the loss of my mom and it was a very difficult time for my family. I was battling depression and I was just so lost. I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and not having purpose, and I knew I needed to do something different.

When I came back to Georgia, I googled ‘non-denominational church’, and I came across Futures.

There was just something about the church that drew me in, and I knew if I wanted my life to change, I needed to be in a place like that.

I walked through the halls of Futures for the first time and I was greeted right away by the First Impressions team. I really felt like I was right at home.

I started attending services and prayer meetings, as well as going to bU Women’s Conference. Ps Ashley did a series about dreams, and I realized that I started to actually dream again. I learned how to pray at the weekly prayer meetings, and I started to pray for a closer relationship with God. I also began to pray for a few tangible things with my job – performance indicators that I wanted to meet, and increasing influence with my role. As I was committed to prayer, I started to see it all happen.

I won every single KPI for the whole year, and I became director for my company. I even won the President’s Award for results! With that award came a substantial bonus that I wasn’t expecting, and because of that I’m now under contract for a house that I have been praying for! Everything God has done in my life is so overwhelming, and He has truly shown His faithfulness to me.
