FLS: Speaking Evaluation Sheet
The purpose of this evaluation sheet:
- Improve your technical ability to communicate
- Increase your ability to connect with people on an intellectual, emotional, physical & spiritual level.
Preparation:
- What was your goal today? What was your call to action?
- Did you reach your goal? If you didn’t, why not?
LEVEL ONE – PHYSICAL CONNECTION
Evaluate your body language:
1. What sort of body language did you display to the group? Was it strong or weak?
a) Did your body language communicate enthusiasm?
b) Did you use a strong voice with a variety of highs and lows, or was it monotone?
c) How did you use your hands to express your enthusiasm?
d) Did your facial expressions complement your message and inspire the audience?
2. Did you use dramatization to illustrate any particular points in your message?
3. How did the audience react to your body language? Were they focused on your message or did they look disinterested?
LEVEL TWO – INTELLECTUAL CONNECTION
Evaluate your content and construction:
1. How did you go collecting information for your message?
a) Did you spend an appropriate amount of time developing the content and depth of your message?
b) Did you get revelation from God’s Word?
c) Did you use any illustrations?
d) What was the application?
2. How was the construction of your message?
a) How was your introduction? Did you use a story, a gripping title or an announcement?
b) Were your points clear and easy to follow?
c) Did your conclusion stir a response in the hearers to act on what they heard?
3. Did you achieve what you aimed for in your message?
LEVEL THREE – EMOTIONAL CONNECTION
Evaluate your passion:
1. Did you use passion to communicate your message?
a) Were you able to communicate the same level of passion you felt internally into the hearts of those listening?
2. Did you use any personal stories to captivate the hearts and emotions of the hearers?
LEVEL FOUR – SPIRITUAL CONNECTION
Evaluate the anointing on your message:
1. What did you do in preparation for your message spiritually?
2. Did you feel that what you said penetrated people’s hearts?
a) Did you speak with a personal authority and confidence?
b) Was the theme one that specifically spoke to the people listening?
3. Were you sensitive to the Holy Spirit and did you allow Him to guide you as you spoke?
a) Did you hear from God before you spoke?
b) Did you hear from God while you were speaking? If so, what did you do?
Growth:
- Did you enjoy this experience?
- How do you think you can improve?
- What weakness did you identify?
- Would you do anything differently next time?
